As the founder of Supplies for Humanity, my mission is to effect tangible change within my community by addressing the pressing need for daily essentials among individuals facing hardship. Recognizing this recurring challenge in my daily interactions, I established this organization, driven by an earnest desire to make a meaningful impact. Leveraging the strengths of some of the most dedicated students at my school, I initiated the groundwork for Supplies for Humanity. Moving forward, I am committed to expanding our reach by recruiting the brightest talents from other educational institutions, ensuring a collective effort to fortify our community's resilience and foster a culture of support. Together, we aspire to empower individuals in need and nurture a community that thrives on compassion and solidarity.

President

Yasmin Herrera is a 17-year-old senior at San Jacinto High School, maintaining a 4.6 GPA. Beyond academics, she showcases leadership and creativity as a choreographer for their competitive and high school dance team, as well as an active member in multiple community involvement clubs and programs. Balancing school and community, Yasmin embraces family responsibility as a devoted older sibling, caring for her younger brother. She demonstrates a heartfelt commitment to helping people of all ages. With a clear passion for justice and advocacy, Yasmin is aspiring to work in the law field, particularly family law, aiming to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities alike.

Co-President of Community Engagement and Events

Ky’Yah York is a dual enrollment student with a passion for engineering and community impact. As Co-President of Community Engagement and Events for Supplies for Humanity, a nonprofit organization, she helps connect people with opportunities to serve and strengthen their communities. Inspired by the potential of engineering to improve lives, Ky’Yah plans to pursue a career in civil engineering, with the long-term goal of helping develop infrastructure in underserved and developing communities around the world. Secretary & Social Media Coordinator

Juliana Arreola is a senior at San Jacinto High School who is passionate about serving her community and making a positive impact. Throughout high school, she has been actively involved in school clubs, volunteered in her community, participated in dual enrollment courses and Advanced Placement classes, and balanced a part-time job while maintaining strong academics and earning multiple GPA recognition awards. She enjoys reading, writing poetry, and babysitting, which have helped strengthen her creativity, patience, and communication skills. Juliana genuinely enjoys giving back and helping others, and she values opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her. As the Secretary and Social Media Coordinator for Supplies for Humanity, she looks forward to using her leadership, organizational, and creative skills to support the organization’s mission and serve her community. After graduating, she plans to attend a four-year university and continue pursuing her passion for law, with the goal of becoming an intellectual property attorney.

Treasurer

Zulema Carmona is a senior at San Jacinto High School who enjoys challenging herself academically while giving back to her community. She has taken Advanced Placement classes throughout high school and has earned several GPA awards in recognition of her hard work and dedication. She has also completed many hours of volunteer service and is always looking for new ways to help those around her. Outside of school, Zulema enjoys watching shows, learning new languages, and experiencing different cultures. This year, she will serve as the Treasurer for Supplies for Humanity, where she looks forward to supporting the organization’s mission and making a positive impact. After high school, Zulema plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a career in law, with the goal of becoming a lawyer who advocates for others and helps make a difference in her community.

Jamie Galván Fonseca is a senior at San Jacinto High School. Throughout high school, she has challenged herself by taking AP, dual enrollment, CTE, and college-level courses while maintaining a 3.83 weighted GPA. Along with her academics, she balances work, leadership, and community service, including serving on the Executive Support Committee for Supplies for Humanity, where she helps organize outreach projects that support local students and families. These experiences have strengthened her responsibility, communication, and leadership skills. Outside of school, she enjoys listening to music, learning new things, exploring new places, and spending time with the people she cares about most. Friends describe her as energetic, focused, and caring. She believes there is always an opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive impact on those around her. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year university and major in Physiology so she can pursue a career in healthcare and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Monika Gutierrez is a 17-year-old student at San Jacinto Leadership Academy. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) and dual enrollment student, she is dedicated to academic excellence and community service. Monika volunteers with San Jacinto Head Start, San Jacinto Elementary, SJLA, and other local schools. She has participated in soccer, golf, and cross country while serving in numerous leadership roles, including Vice President of ASB, National Honor Society, and Youth Equity Stewardship, as well as Secretary of MECHA. She is also an active member of Mentoring, Key Club, and other service organizations. Monika plans to earn a scholarship to attend USC, where she hopes to major in Psychology and become a childhood psychologist. Known for her determination, compassion, and leadership, she strives to make everyone feel valued and aims to create a meaningful, lasting impact on her community and the world.

Mia Lopez is a 16-year-old student at San Jacinto Leadership Academy and a dedicated dual enrollment student who is committed to both academic and personal growth. For the past three years, she has proudly served as President of the Yearbook Club, demonstrating strong leadership, creativity, and organization. Mia is also a dedicated student-athlete who has competed in basketball, softball, and volleyball for the past three years. Known for her determination, humility, and willingness to help others, she consistently goes above and beyond to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her. Whether leading her peers, competing on the court and field, or supporting her community, Mia approaches every opportunity with compassion and perseverance. She strives to inspire others through her actions and hopes to leave a lasting impact wherever she goes.
